Why the uke? Just for the fun

I am actually a classically trained musician with a music degree in violin. But I didn't like the outlook of the teaching/gig life and went into nonprofit mgmt., retired the violin after 25 years. One day yrs. later, as I perused a music shop, I saw this cheap uke and remembered it being my first instrument as a kid. I thought "what would it be like to play this humble thing after all of these years of music training?" So I did! I know it's the brunt of jokes as a novelty instrument outside of Hawaii. My goal is to make it sound like it's not a toy. Everything you hear is me, live, self-taught as I go, except most vocals. My true goal was from Covid lockdown: learn how to record, and edit sound and videos. All from an iPad, vocal tracks, 7 ukes, and synth.
